Exploring 300 Years of Obsolete Everyday Essentials

2023-2024 exhibit poster for It's Personal: Exploring 300 Years of Obsolete Everyday Essentials, Ridgewood Historical Society & Museum

This assemblage of artifacts chronicle ordinary days in the lives of our ancestors from the 17th to mid-20th century.

This fascinating exhibit shares previously indispensable objects made obsolete through technology and innovation emphasizing the home, science, medicine, entertainment, communication, business, dining, bathing, heat and light, as well as daily habits and once-necessary items of a personal nature used by women, men, and children.
