Object Lessons allows us to tell our story, share our history, in a more approachable, accessible way. Objects bring history to life in a new way. Choosing a small fraction of the artifacts in our permanent collection to illustrate the history of our Village, we will take you on a journey from our earliest Lenape ancestors through to the earliest days of the twentieth century. Come and walk through time with familiar names like Ackerman, Zabriskie and Van Emburgh.
Step away from boring history lessons of old and imagine yourself watching our beautiful Village grow from rural farming area to the vibrant community we know today. Objects relocate you to a different time and place. We hope this inspires a sense of both curiosity and pride in our collective histories.
